The Biedermann Lab for Orthopaedic Research at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking an individual to fill a full time research engineer position. The candidate will assist in coordinating studies on multiple research projects and perform a variety of benchtop and in vitro studies which require careful attention to detail. Experiments will include biomechanical testing and analysis, machining custom-made fixtures, and analyzing and processing data in Matlab. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, ordering supplies, and keeping a well-organized lab notebook. The candidate must be able to follow directions carefully, solve problems, and function well within a team environment. The Research Specialist B position will be required to interpret and present testing results to other researchers and clinicians independently. Additionally, the Research Specialist B position will be asked to formulate grant proposals, and write technical articles with minimal oversight.
