This position assists in the management and coordination of research programs and projects for faculty from the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at Regions Hospital. The University of Minnesota will support this position although the research will be located on campus at Regions Hospital. The primary goal of this department is to develop and publish world class orthopaedic research with a focus in clinical outcomes research. This position is intended to provide a foundation to career in healthcare research and our intention is to develop this individual to assume management level responsibilities as soon as possible. An ideal opportunity for development primarily based on performance and desire for growth. Below is a breakdown of this position’s major responsibilities, other duties may be assigned as needed.
Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) Management – 60% of time
Primary contact for patient enrollment in PRO software
Monitor and optimize capture rate
Weekly reports to Outcomes director on key performance metrics (KPMs)
Identify bright spots and facilitate process optimization
Interest in the development of technology to improve research in orthopaedics
Research Administration – 30% of time
Learn and eventually manage the IRB process for new projects and complete ongoing reviews
Update and track milestones for active research projects
Screen and enroll patients in clinical studies
Other Responsibilities – 10% of time
Manage research budget
Other duties as assigned
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
BA/BS with at least two years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to total six years
Demonstrated organizational skills
Prior success in a fast pace work environment
Desire to work with fantastic team of production driven people
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
Basic understanding of the IRB process
Interest in clinical outcomes research and patient care
Prior experience in writing of scientific manuscripts
