Minimum Qualifications: B.S. In Anatomy, Biology, Molecular and Cell Biology or other related field and one year of related experience required. Masters degree preferred.
Job Standard / Operational Needs: Under the direction of the primary investigator, assist in the development of experimental procedures and apply molecular and cell biology techniques to the characterization of cellular and tissue responses to radiotherapy in animal and cell culture models of musculoskeletal oncology conditions. Requires handling of small animals, animal tissues, and human tissue under IRB and IACUC-approved protocols. Techniques include: mammalian cell culture, small animal irradiation, gene & protein expression, histology, microscopy, micro-computed tomography, digital image analysis, X-ray imaging, mechanical testing. Perform experiments, process data, analyze results, and perform statistical analysis. Participate in preparation of abstracts, full manuscripts, and conference presentations on results from work. Assist in supervising students and other laboratory personnel. Position performs work independently following established protocols or procedures with regular consultation with supervisor.
