The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh, Swanson School of Engineering invites applications by accomplished individuals with a PhD or equivalent in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related discipline. This is a non-tenure stream faculty position at the rank of assistant professor with experience in engineering design, experiential and project-based learning, and a demonstrated record of successful supervision and mentorship of both undergraduate and graduate students and student design project teams. Areas of teaching experience should include design thinking, bioengineering concepts, freshman engineering, and bioengineering methods laboratory modules. In addition, the candidate should have a track record of generating extramural funding to support translational research activities, and a demonstrated ability to build bridges with clinicians and work closely with clinical partners and other collaborators in developing interdisciplinary initiatives in both education and research. The candidate must have an active and successful research program that would complement or reinforced existing strengths of the University's Department of Bioengineering (www.engineering.pitt.edu/bioengineering), and must be committed to high quality teaching for a diverse student body at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
