We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Construction Accountant. To qualify you must have a High School diploma or its equivalent, plus experience with accounts payable and overall accounting and advanced MS Excel skills, proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the components of a development project, including construction and consultant costs; confirming all invoices and processes are in compliances with contracts and NYU procedures; preparing budget modifications where needed with a full understanding of an Anticipated Cost Report; reviewing vendor accounts receivable reports and reconciling; acting as a liaison to Accounts Payable; managing the contract administration process; preparing allocation entries; analyzing and preparing Journal Entries where needed; guiding Project Managers on proper procedures and protocol for reviewing CM Requisitions and Vendor Invoices; setting up monthly calendar of events of due dates; preparing cash flows and forecasting when necessary; following up monthly on audits and responses; preparing financial monthly or quarterly reports from Systems downloads as required; assisting in Project Close out; plus all related job duties as assigned. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
A Bachelor's of Arts or Sciences in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or MBA, plus at least five years financial experience in construction industry and experience with private financing and/or state agencies is preferred.
