Florida Hospital is looking for a dynamic Palliative Medicine physician leader to continue to develop and oversee our program at our major tertiary facility in downtown Orlando and in our system in the Central Florida area which consists of eight hospitals. This physician would provide the clinical leadership and expertise for the palliative care team to improve patient care throughout the hospital. Prior experience with directing or developing a program is required. The new leader would continue to build effective relationships with referring physicians to ensure excellent follow-up by our existing team of palliative medicine physicians. The Medical Director would also build an improved culture of collaboration among specialists, PCP’s and nurses to meet the needs of patients and families. We are also launching a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship in 2017, so teaching and research would certainly be part of our program.
Requirements of the position include:
- Five years experience in Palliative Medicine post training.
- Active Board Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine along with active board certification through one of the co-sponsoring boards.
- Previous experience in directing a program.
Working within a faith-based institution with the mission “To extend the healing ministry of Christ”, full support from hospital administration, and strong collegial partners within the Graduate Medical Education program make this an extremely enticing opportunity.
