Summary Description: A full-time Postdoctoral Research Scientist position, specializing in stem cell biology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, is available in the Regenerative Engineering Laboratory at the College of Dental Medicine, Columbia University Medical Center campus. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the candidate will conduct research involving regeneration of musculoskeletal and dental/craniofacial tissues and the mechanism of stem cell-induced regeneration. The ideal candidate will have experience with stem cells, molecular biology, and tissue regeneration. Prior experience in stem cells, in vivo cell tracking, and/or signaling study will be beneficial. Candidate's expertise should be documented in peer-reviewed research articles. Position requires excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact effectively with other postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students in a fast-paced environment; excellent organization and time management skills; initiative and ability to plan, carry out, and troubleshoot complex studies with minimal supervision and at the highest scientific standards. Attention to details and ability to work on multiple projects are expected. The candidate is expected to have a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant research experience and a good publication record. Position is available on July 1, 2015. The position is grant-funded and renewal is dependent on funding.
Minimum Qualifications: The candidate should have a doctorate in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline. All candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant research experience, referenced by first-authored peer-review publications.
Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in stem cells and regenerative medicine, lineage tracing, molecular biology, and biochemistry is desirable.
