The Comprehensive Pain Management Program at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is searching for a physician with substantial pediatric pain management training or experience to join our Complex Pain Management Program. This program provides care to patients with complex or chronic painful conditions as inpatients, as well as in the ambulatory setting, wherein patients with chronic musculoskeletal, chest, pelvic and postoperative pain predominate. It is one component of our Comprehensive Pain Management Program, which includes teams specializing in abdominal pain, amplified pain, headache, perioperative pain and sickle cell pain. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes medical providers, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and massage therapists. It is anticipated that this will be a part-time position initially, growing over time. For those wishing a full-time position, the remaining time will, with approval, be spent in his/her primary specialty (BC/BE required). Opportunities for research and teaching are available. Academic appointment at the University of Missouri Kansas City within the relevant specialty will be based on the candidate’s experience.
