Job Description
A newly established Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells Program at the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMC Utrecht) is seeking three talented scientists in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells. Our dedicated research program has a strong foundation in both clinical application of regenerative therapies and fundamental stem cell research. A PhD program on Regenerative Medicine is connected to the program and currently a separate master’s program on Regenerative Medicine & Technology is under development. The aim of the program is to translate pre-clinical stem cell/ tissue regeneration research to clinical treatments in the fields of stem cell based therapies and musculoskeletal and cardiovascular tissue regeneration. In order to facilitate the step from bench to bedside, the program wants to attract three highly talented researchers/clinicians with expertise in the field of translational stem cell research to start their own research groups at the UMC Utrecht. There will be one position available for each of the following fields: 1. Stem cell based therapies 2. Musculoskeletal tissue regeneration 3. The research program in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells is a joint venture between the UMC Utrecht and the Hubrecht Institute for Developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research. The program involves approximately 50 principle investigators and over 60 Ph.D. students.

NOTES:
Additional Salary Information: Positions at the assistant/associate professor level for a period of five years. Additional funding for the appointment of a PhD student and technician under supervision of the candidate will be made available. Gross salary indication (per month, 100% position), depending upon age, position and level of experience: € 4.023 - € 6.162.

Requirements
You will have an excellent track record in the field of musculoskeletalregenerative medicine / stem cell biology, including a PhD, MD or equivalent degree, along with post-doctoral training. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their publication record and a strong, innovative and competitive research plan. You will have a certain freedom to define your work according to your expertise in the muscoloskeletal field. An external committee consisting of several internationally renowned scientists will advise the board on the candidates’ profiles.
