The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will facilitate scheduling, pre-procedural imaging and lab testing, and patient care before, during, and after procedures and admissions. This position will be required to perform the scheduled, routine follow-up and also the day to day issues that arise with patients both before and after the procedure.� Congenial work environment with an excellent relationship with our referring physicians.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and schedules procedures and admissions and related tests and pre-procedural imaging.
Obtains insurance carrier specific authorization/precertification/predetermine, correct order from either referring or musculoskeletal section physician.
Obtains instructions to give to the patient, referring service and imaging studies and obtains necessary records prior to a given procedure or visit.
Coordinates pre-procedure consultations with physician in order to understand the purpose, benefits and risks involved for each patient; arranging patient admission and post-procedure care and follow up care with patients.
Manage phone calls of incoming daily patient concerns, inpatient requests.
Maintains files on interventional patients in good order and will set up a computerized data base to track patients, devices, procedures, results, and complications.
May assist with the handling of biopsy specimens sent for special analysis (gene sequencing, molecular profiling, etc.).
Run, maintain, and manage the MSK procedure and Outlook calendar.
May assist occasionally with research protocols.
Assist as necessary with various administrative duties of the section to ensure coverage.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with 2 years of nursing experience.
Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with the Compact Act; Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.).
Interventional Musculoskeletal Radiology is a field of Radiology in which percutaneous procedures are employed for the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the spine, bone, and soft tissues in both the adult and pediatric population with multiple modalities including fluoroscopy, computed tomography, and ultra-sound. A large subset of this population involves patients with cancer and includes interventional oncology procedures such as tumor ablation and vertebral augmentation.
This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. This position works Monday through Friday with no call or evening hours.
The hiring range for this position is $53,165 - $74,443 annually.
