Job Summary/Essential JobFunctions:
Under the direction of thePrincipal Investigator (PI), the Research Assist performs procedures requiredto study the role of estrogen in different tissues such as the breast and bone.This position uses molecular biology and cell biology techniques includingreal-time PCR, Western Blotting, cell culture, mouse models, and assists withdaily lab routines such as ordering of lab supplies, organization andcleaning.
Performs Molecular Biology and Cell biology assays.
Maintains mouse colony management and genotyping.
Performs tissue culture.
Maintains laboratory notebook of experimental work/data.
Performs computer data entry and analysis using GraphPad, Excel, Word and PowerPoint management of generated results.
Orders and maintains inventory of lab supplies and reagents.
Operates and maintains freezer and refrigerator; Cleans and washes dishes.
Participates in weekly lab meetings and attendance at relevant presentations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
