Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, a leader in medical rehabilitation for more than one hundred years, is an integral part of the Montefiore Health System and is academically affiliated with the prestigious Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Burke is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Located in White Plains, NY, Burke is a 150-bed acute rehabilitation hospital, dedicated to adult rehabilitation medicine. Burke provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for a broad range of neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiac, and pulmonary disabilities caused by disease or injury. Burke treats patients who have suffered a stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, amputation, complicated fracture, arthritis, cardiac and pulmonary disease, and neurological disorders. Patients must be able to participate in intense physical, occupational and speech therapy. Burke’s personalized care is the result of expert, interdisciplinary teams, led by a range of highly respected medical specialists. Burke's full-time physicians include neurologists, physiatrists, internists, rheumatologists, pulmonologists, and neurophysiologists.
As a leader in the field rehabilitation, Burke also conducts clinical research. Patients may have the opportunity to participate in cutting edge medical research for ongoing studies within the hospital or with Burke Medical Research Institute, an on-campus research partner. Current studies being conducted include: stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and pharmacological studies to name just a few.
Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is searching for a qualified and dedicated Associate Chief Nursing Officer. The Associate Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for ensuring that a high level of 24-hour nursing care is given to all patients. The Associate Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for focusing on a high-quality patient experience, managing & mitigating risk, participating in performance initiatives, and conducting nursing research studies in compliance with all regulatory standards and IRB protocols.
The Associate Chief Nursing Officer will report to the Vice President-Chief Nursing Officer.
Master’s Degree in Nursing or related health care field (Required)
Eligibility for a RN license to practice nursing in New York
Ten (10) years of Rehabilitation experience in an acute rehabilitation hospital (Required)
Union experience highly preferred.
Five (5) years of progressive management experience. (Required)
