The Department of Radiology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is seeking a qualified chest radiologist to join our faculty.
This position requires expertise in thoracic imaging and a strong interest in teaching and resident education. Our faculty members read chest cross sectional imaging, abdominal imaging and chest x-rays. Candidates with expertise and/or interest in cardiac imaging are welcome to apply and/or those with cardiac interest can be mentored.
This selected incumbent will spend time at both Jeanes Hospital, Temple’s community based facility as well as at Temple University Hospital working in both an academic and community capacity. This position requires an interest in teaching and resident education.
Qualified candidate will have an M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent degree with active board certification in radiology. New graduates who are board eligible will also be considered. Fellowship training in cardiothoracic or thoracic imaging is strongly preferred.
This is a fantastic opportunity to partner with the Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery (TMS) which is a leader in research, education, and has one of the nation’s top lung transplant programs. Our pulmonary department ranks as one of the best in the country and sees a wide variety of pathology particularly interstitial lung diseases and COPD. The incumbent will also have the opportunity to partner with faculty within Temple’s Heart and Vascular Institute to continue to grow our very strong cardiac CT and MR programs.
There are approximately 42 FT clinical faculty members within Temple University Health System who specialize in the following areas: chest and cardiac imaging, abdominal imaging, mammography, neuroradiology, interventional radiology, interventional neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, musculoskeletal radiology and general radiology. The Department has vibrant clinical and educational programs. The clinical radiology service is based out of Temple University Hospital and also serves the Episcopal Hospital Campus, Northeastern Campus, and the Jeanes Hospital Campus. At the Fox Chase Cancer Center Campus there are currently 10 diagnostic radiologists that are employed by the Fox Chase Cancer Center Medical Group that provide all of the imaging services. The interventional radiology section serves all of the hospitals in the TUHS. The ACGME accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program has been in continuous existence since 1932 and has trained more than 350 radiologists.
