We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Operations Manager in the Center for Children Department. To qualify a Bachelors Degree or currently enrolled in a Master's Degree program in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or a related field required. Previous experience three to five (3-5) in healthcare management, ambulatory operations preferred. The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as wells as proven ability to deal effectively with different groups of people. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
In this role, the successful candidate The Operations Manager is responsible for delegating work assignments, supervising personnel, help to manage the day-to-day operations of the outpatient clinics. Ensuring smooth operations for non-clinical functions in the outpatient clinics (e.g. patient scheduling, registration, triaging phone calls, EPIC intake, etc.) Tracking and analyzing data related to patient volume, cycle times, resource utilization and patient experience. Respond to patient related issues that may arise unexpectedly and will be involved in special projects that arise.
Communication/Relationship with Others: Promotes relationships with collaborating partners. This includes promoting relationships among The Centers clinicians and staff, including pediatric orthopedic surgeons, pediatricians, physiatrists, nursing, social workers and physical therapists. This also includes promoting partnerships within the hospital system and with other referring health care organizations.
Regulatory Compliance: Oversees The Centers ambulatory care activities and ensures timely and fluid clinical and functional operations. Designs and maintains an effective quality assurance program and makes periodic changes as needed. Develops processes to ensure efficient patient flow.
Procures equipment as needed. Evaluates adequacy of existing equipment and makes recommendations, where appropriate, for upgrading and expansion of current equipment. Establishes and monitors cost containment efforts throughout the department.
Budget: Works with the Administrative Director to develop and manage the annual operating and capital budget for The Center for Children and Pediatrics.
Functional Responsibilities: Directs and oversees day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of The Center for Children staff. Ensures assignments are understood and institutes appropriate follow-up with the management staff to ensure desired outcomes are reached. Allocates resources appropriately so that assignments can be accomplished. Communicates to staff his/her responsibilities and the standards of performance. Hire, evaluate and supervise support staff and work with the Human Resources Department on personnel matters.
