Dr. Teena Shetty, Neurologist at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, is looking for a full-time post-doc to work in the Neurology Department at HSS. We are primarily looking for someone who is eager to do data analysis, co-authorship of manuscripts, and grant writing. A number of the manuscripts will focus on novel imaging sequences in mild TBI. He or she would be involved in a number of concussion related research projects, ranging from EEG studies to drug trials. We are currently running research studies sponsored by Chembio Diagnostics, ElMindA, and Teva Pharmaceuticals. A multi-center study with GE and the NFL has just completed enrollment, and we will begin data analysis and publication efforts shortly. There are also opportunities to work on multidisciplinary projects that include orthopaedic surgery and peripheral nerve.
We are looking for a highly competent, organized, meticulous, hard-working, and personable candidate who is skilled at writing abstracts and manuscripts as well as data analysis. We also prefer that applicants have very strong writing skills with regard to peer-reviewed publications, can maintain a high level of professionalism, and are comfortable working with patients and their families.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Drafting grant proposals
-Writing and editing abstracts and manuscripts
-Performing literature reviews
-Patient screening and recruitment into clinical trials
-Administering neurocognitive assessments to concussion patients
-Coordinating with research sponsors and other sites for multi-center studies
-Writing and updating IRB protocols
-Assisting in the preparation of research presentations
-Creating and managing a data registry to pursue further research projects in concussion recovery
Minimum two-year commitment is required.
