The Stanford University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is committed to advancing knowledge related to the care of conditions of the musculoskeletal system through basic science and clinical research. In pursuit of that mission, the department has an immediate opening for a Research Finance Administrator 2. The ideal candidate will take pride in preparing budgets, approving transactions, reconciling, analyzing, and reporting on accounts of medium to complex nature for a total portfolio of approximately $10M. The Research Finance Administrator will report directly to the Finance Manager, providing financial oversight of complex federal and non-federal research grants, contracts, gifts and designated funds. Additionally, the Research Finance Administrator will be motivated to support a cohesive and mission driven team of faculty and staff that are advancing the field of Orthopaedic Surgery. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Develop and communicate reports supporting project status; create effective forecasting and decision aides.
Develop, prepare, and finalize project budgets, and provide budget justification.
Participate with principal investigator in the preparation of the administrative components of proposals within parameters of sponsored and non-sponsored research guidelines. Oversee and communicate submission process, both paper and electronic; review documents for completeness and compliance.
Review and approve expenditures, advise on post award spending and commitment activity, and oversee compliance related to fund and revenue.
Participate in contract closeout process; submit final reports and certificates. Compile information and documents needed for audit inquiries.
