We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Biller II in the Orthopedic Surgery Department. To qualify a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience, three (3) years minimum with medical billing, collections, and account follow up experience required. Requires minimum ability to use windows based system, some word processing and spreadsheet management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident demeanor, and strong attention to detail required.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing follow-up activities on claims submitted to the carrier. Understands contractual arrangements with payors to determine if claims are processed and paid correctly. Files appeals to carriers when outstanding balance is in dispute. Submits operative reports and detailed letters regarding any unusual services provided by the physician. Offers suggestionso on accounts that are uncollectible, or collection referral. Calls patients who owe balances related to patient responsible balances. Answers calls from patients and office managers regarding account billing questions (customer service). This position may be required to perform any or all duties of a Biller or Project Assistant as requested by the supervisor. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Communicates effectively with supervisor, staff and constituents.
Maintains orderly and complete records/files.
Identifies issues and recommends solutions.
Meets with team lead routinely to update on productivity and progress toward established targets.
Recommends accounts for collection referral,
submits appeals using standard billing department letter templates.
Submits additional documentation as requested.
Corrects and updates information as needed to resubmit claims.
Identifies write-offs and adjustments (e.g., bundled services).
Performs assignments as directed by team lead.
Works assigned task management queues based.
