The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time Open Rank BC/BE physiatrist to join our outpatient practices at UNC's Spine Center (60%) and the Center for Rehabilitation Care (40%), adjusted per patient care needs. The physiatrist will primarily care for patients with back and neck pain, musculoskeletal problems, and acute / chronic pain. Must be able to provide comprehensive clinical care management and perform all related spine and joint procedures. The physiatrist will work closely with other providers and departments with a focus on non-operative treatments such as physical and occupational therapy. The candidate will also participate in the usual duties as expected of other faculty members, which includes, without limitation, IP service and call coverage, training of residents and medical students, administrative activities, etc. Must have a strong interest in academic medicine to advance our research, education, and clinical activities.
Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a record of interdisciplinary collaboration, and have the desire to be involved in enhancing quality of patient care. Successful completion of a Spine & Sports and/or Pain fellowship and experience in an academic medical center is desired.
