The Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington, in Seattle, has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time academic orthopaedic spine surgeon. This position will be based at the University of Washington Medical Center. Appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor level (without tenure due to funding), or at the Associate Professor level (without tenure due to funding). Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent), be board certified (or board eligible) in orthopaedic surgery and have completed a fellowship (or foreign equivalent) in orthopaedic spine surgery. The successful applicant will have demonstrated excellent surgical skills, professionalism and research accomplishments. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
