The Associate Professor shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university\u2019s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The Physician will be expected to actively participate in the education, research, patient care and administrative programs of the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. This position will provide general orthopedic support for both locations at OHSU CHH, OHSU Beaverton location, and OHSU Tuality Healthplace locations. The Physician is also expected to actively participate in patient care and engagement for growth and outreach to further the development of their community practice locations, and the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. They will actively participate in all aspects of the clinical care of patients as outlined by the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation.
As a member of the Department of Orthopaedics responsibilities and duties are outlined as follows:
1. (Clinical) The Clinical Director for the Department will assign the clinical schedule. This position will work as an Orthopaedic surgeon within the Department for .50 FTE, and at OHSU Tuality for .50 FTE. This position will also be expected to take call, as assigned, with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays.
2. (Education) Since OHSU is a teaching facility, teaching medical students and residents in the clinical setting as well as through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year is required. Teaching assignments will be given from the Director of Education.
3. (Research) There are resources available for start-up research and on-going support.
4. (Administration) Administrative and other duties may be assigned based on Department needs and areas of expertise and interest. There will be opportunities to participate in Departmental management and to serve on institutional committees.
