The University of Tennessee Medical Center is the region’s only Magnet-recognized, Level I Trauma academic medical center. The hospital is currently searching for motivated and articulate candidates for a Clinical Pharmacist, Oncology position. This position is an integral part of a large clinical pharmacy team who provide comprehensive pharmacy services throughout the organization. The Clinical Pharmacist in Oncology: • Provides in-depth clinical pharmacy services to adult inpatient and outpatient oncology patients • Participates in all aspects of the medication-use system while providing comprehensive and individualized pharmaceutical care as a member of interdisciplinary teams • Completes pharmacy consults/clinical intervention, interdisciplinary collaboration, stewardship of appropriate utilization of medications, integrated operational support, and departmental leadership as required by the position. • Identifies service-related issues which require evaluation and facilitates research projects and quality improvement initiatives as needed to advance practice • Additional responsibilities including education to patients, peers, medical, and nursing staff about the management, prescribing and monitoring of therapies used in Oncology. • External presentations, publications, and professional speaking is strongly encouraged and supported • He/she may serve as a preceptor for the PGY1 Pharmacy or Pharmacotherapy Residency Program • Provides precepting mentorship for Doctor of Pharmacy students
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy Clinical training and experience: PGY1 Pharmacy residency and a PGY2 residency/fellowship from an ACPE accredited resident program (or extended clinical experience in oncology patient populations may be considered Licensure/certifications: Tennessee pharmacist license or eligibility
