The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry and the Biological Sciences at the Schaefer School of Engineering and Science, Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens) invites applications for several tenure track faculty positions in biomedical engineering at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, starting on August 16, 2018.
Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline with significant post-doctoral experience. The ideal candidates will perform multidisciplinary research that bridges the life sciences and biomedical engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in (i) tissue/cell biomechanics/biomaterials, (ii) biosensors, (iii) bioimaging, (iv) orthopedic biomechanics, or (v) mechanotransduction. Researchers in these areas with applications in the central nervous, cardiovascular or pulmonary systems, as well as cancer, are especially encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and/or maintain a strong externally funded, globally recognized research program at Stevens, to participate in the teaching mission of the university, and to be an active member of the intellectual community. They should also possess a passion for and be committed to excellence in both graduate and undergraduate education in a highly interdisciplinary, collaborative, diverse, innovative, and entrepreneurial culture at Stevens.
