<p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Program Unit Description:<br />The University of Minnesota’s Center for Magnetic Resonance Research at the Department of Radiology has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow in High and Ultrahigh Field Musculoskeletal Imaging for a 4-year period with the earliest starting date of December 2017.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Duties and Responsibilities:<br />We are currently seeking a Post-doctoral Associate for research projects on musculoskeletal imaging including 3T clinically oriented studies and 7T methods focused on Orthopedic Imaging. Research topics will include qualitative and quantitative imaging of cartilage pathology and repair, application and further development of sequences capable of capturing the ultrashort T2-components in the musculoskeletal system (e.g. bone, tendon). A special focus of our program is the evaluation of the developing skeleton and vascularity of the epiphyseal cartilage on the knee. The research activities include data acquisition, data processing utilizing different MRI equipment available at CMRR.<br />The work will be conducted on a 3T Siemens Prisma system and a 7T Siemens with 16 transmit and 32 receive channels, a 9.4 T animal scanner. In addition, we have extensive facilities and experience in developing new sequences, hardware, coils and RF modeling to support the goals of this project. It is expected that the applicant will first author abstracts for presentation at conferences as well as collaborate on publishing manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals in a timely manner. In order to continue support for this position into the future, additional responsibilities will include active participation in grant preparation.</span></span></p>
