Position performs general secretarial support for physicians, including typing correspondence (both written and dictated), manuscripts, slide presentations and handouts, schedules, abstracts, curriculum vitas and outlines.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transcribes correspondence, reports, memos and manuscripts.
Creates PowerPoint presentations.
Answers phone, screens and routes calls providing information in accordance with the department policy.
Maintains calendar of meetings, lectures, and seminars. Arranges and coordinates meetings for suite managers.
Handles department pager activation/exchange/disconnects and tracking for all employees.
Is the suite facility contact for issues such as janitorial, supply ordering and stocking, equipment malfunctions.
Gathers, sorts, and distributes mail.
Assists the accounting department with transactions such as processing travel expense reports, reimbursement requests, and supply orders.
Assists with maintaining necessary supplies for assigned duties.
Special projects as assigned.
Provides staff support during vacation/illnesses.
Equivalent of High School diploma with 2 years college or business school preferred. 3 years related secretarial experience.
3 years of secretarial experience working with a physician.
Advanced level of PowerPoint skills.
Dictaphone transcription experience, ability to type fifty (50) wpm, skilled and competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Photoshop, excellent editing, proofreading, grammar, communication and organizational skills and discretionary judgment.
Professional demeanor and ability to work independently.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
The hiring range for this position is $15.68 - $19.60 per hour.
